ENGLISH SCHOOL, circa 1620 A portrait of Margaret Gibson, 'daughter to Sir Alex Gibson of Durrie, Lord President of Ye Session, My Lady Pourie Fothringhame', standing half-length holding a fan, oil on canvas, probably re-shaped in the latter part of the 17th century to fit the present oval frame as a pendant to another portrait, 75cm x 62cm, in a 17th century carved giltwood frame.
Provenance: The Murray family at Polmaise Castle, Cambusbarron, Stirling, Scotland, and by descent.
