A collection of Royal Copenhagen annual Christmas plates dating from 1909 onwards, including plates dating from both World Wars, signed to base, 18.5cm circumference (2 trays) Note: The tradition of ceramic commemorative Christmas plates began at the 1888 Nordic Industrial, Agricultural and Arts Exhibition in Copenhagen, before being developed by The Royal Danish Porcelain Factory and Bing & Grøndahl. Royal Copenhagen released their first unique, blue-glazed relief design in 1908, and have continued to issue new plates every festive season.
