Now (it can be as good as this ...) 15 x 10 3/4 in (Published in the Reveille 12th April 1941); 'And to think that it's the same dear old moon that's looking down on him, 1915 ... This Horrid beast of a moon is sure to bring them over tonight 1940 ... The same Old Moon, 15 x 10 3/4 in (Published in the Reveille 9th November 1940); 'When one would like to start an offensive on ones own ... and Leave just cancelled, 17 1/2 x 2 1/2 in (Unpublished, but a redraw of one of the artist's cartoons in 'Fragments from France'; and 'Ullo, I see there's still another tin of that plum and apple left ... Captain Charles Bruce Bairnsfather (1888-1959) was a prominent British humourist and Cartoonist. Bairnsfather fought in the First World War in France. He began sketching in the trenches and his first cartoons about army Life appeared in the weekly publication 'The Bystander'. His drawings enjoyed wide popularity. During World War 11 he served as an official cartoonist with the US Army in Europe.
