Captain Charles Bruce Bairnsfather (1888-1959) was a prominent British humourist and Cartoonist. Bairnsfather fought in the First World War in France. He began sketching in the trenches and his first cartoons about army Life appeared in the weekly publication 'The Bystander'. His drawings enjoyed wide popularity. During World War 11 he served as an official cartoonist with the US Army in Europe.
