Great Britain: British Gas Light Company, one £50 share, 18[25], #2936, black printing, on vellum. Incorporated by Act of Parliament and Deed of Settlement in 1824. It operated works at Norwich, Hull, Trowbridge, the Potteries, Holywell, Ayr and Clonmel in Ireland. In 1857 it was incorporated with Limited Liability. Under the Gas Act of 1948 all undertakings were transferred to the relevent Gas Boards and the company wound up. Near EF and scarce.
