A stainless steel Rolex Submariner wristwatch, model 1680, C.1978, the black enamel 660ft = 200m dial with luminous markers denoting hours and date aperture at 3 o’clock position with cyclops lens, the 40mm case with bi-directional rotating bezel, on stainless steel Oyster bracelet, stamped '93150' and end links stamped '580'. With original box, cardboard outer box, original guarantee, purchase receipt, various service receipts, service guarantee and green velvet service pouch etc. Provenance note: Watch was originally purchased by a young Royal Navy Officer in Spring 1979 from Watches of Switzerland in Cardiff, the watch was worn daily and used when conducting Astro navigation. It was then worn by the owner onboard HMS Arrow throughout the Falklands war in 1982 and then when he was Commanding Officer of HMS Kingfisher in 1985/1986. It next saw conflict again whilst worn onboard HMS Brave in the Gulf War 1 in 1991. The Owner also wore the watch whilst serving on HMS Ark Royal as ship’s company and as embarked Battle Staff on HMS Invincible and HMS Illustrious, 1991 - 1994 whilst conducting operations in the Adriatic Sea in support of NATO peacekeeping operations, shown being worn in additional images
