Provenance: Given by the artist to Cavendish and Concord Morton , who had originally met Laura Knight while sketching on Southsea Common. Thence by family descent.
A letter from the artist to the Morton twins attached to the reverse dated 19 Dec 1936 states' Dear Friends, Thank you for the beautiful Print and for yours and your father's kind wishes.I hope you will all have a very Happy Xmas and that the New Year brings you joy & success in all your adventures.yours sincerely Laura Knight'
