WW1 Military Medal to 12562 Dvr H. Dutton D.83/Bde R.F.A. extremely fine. Herbert Dutton's MM was announced in the London Gazette dated 23rd February 1918. He died on the final day of the war, 11th November 1918, from pneumonia following the effects of influenza and enemy poison gas in Nottingham Hospital, reported in Runcorn Examiner 16/11/18. He was laid to rest with military honours in Stockton Heath churchyard on 18th November 1918. His MM was presented to his wife and young son in September 1919. With copied newspaper articles, CWGC and Soldiers Died. Rare gallantry medal to a last day of the war casualty. (See photo) (R)
