Extremely rare depth gauge for a UK submarine. reported that this item was saved from HMS Otter. This Oberon class submarine was scrapped at Pounds yard of Portsmouth by European Metal Recycling in April 1992. Made to order few examples exist. Large and 40cm.
The owner's uncle worked in the shipyard when the sub was dismantled, the brother gifted it to the brother who was the owner's father. Who was the Royal Navy. No written provenance, make your own mind up.
