WWI Military Cross reverse engraved Captain B M Williams 8th B.N. Durham L. I Sept 15th 1917 Arras, 1914-15 Star to 2. Lieut B.M Williams Durh.L/I., BWM, Victory Medal to Capt B. M. Williams and France Croix de Guerre with palms, nearly extremely fine or better, swing mounted as worn. Trio likely skimmed and re-named. Group purchased from Donald Hall of Piccadilly and comes with purchase invoice dated 25/05/1971 and handwritten research by the original owner stating, 'The MC was awarded for gallantry by taking a raiding party into the enemy trenches in day light on Sept 15 1917 and returning with 50 prisoners (Germans) without loss to the raiding party and bringing back several men of the party that were wounded'.
