1526-1532 Henry VIII silver Halfgroat Canterbury mint coin with cross patonce mintmark (S 2543). Obverse: right-facing crowned bust with cross patonce mintmark and legend that reads 'hЄnRIC ’x VIII 'x D 'x G x' R 'x ΛGL 'x Z FR'. Reverse: shield of royal arms with long cross over, 'WA' on either side for Archbishop William Warham, a clear cross patonce mintmark and 'CIVITAS xxx CANTOR x' around. Weight: 1.12g. Diameter: 19.4mm. Grade: gF - dark tone, the usual scuffs and minor scratches typical of coins found in the ground, otherwise good Fine. William Warham was Archbishop of Canterbury from 153 until 1532 and was responsible for crowning Henry VIII on 24th June 1509 at Westminster Abbey.
