Fees

A 19th century brass mounted percussion pistol, possibly Scottish, with foliate decoration, with octagonal steel barrel and simple percussion lock, 34cm long, barrel 20.5cm (some repairs)

More Information

There is a crack in the body that has been repaired with an additional brass plate. There appears to be some silver solder repairs to the brass underside of the barrel. There appear to be some general small dents, noticeable signs of wear.

The hammer cocked to one position, and then released when the trigger was pulled, but on subsequent attempts the hammer would not hold and immediately clicked and released. It was also very stiff to move.
