George III tortoiseshell pair cased verge pocket watch, by James Thomas, Chester, circa 1780-1800, the outer case detailed with brass studwork and with reverse inked fern like tree decoration, white enamelled dial, the back plate signed and numbered 61, tapered square section pillars, 50mm diameter

The reverse of the tortoiseshell case is cracked and has wear to the interior decoration. The interior has some wear to the gilt and rubbing around the extremities. There are some small scratches to the glass. The watch is ticking when wound.
