A PAIR OF GEORGE III SCOTTISH SILVER SAUCE TUREENS AND COVERS

by James McKay, Edinburgh 1809, rectangular with gadrooned borders, the covers with snake-form loop handles, the dishes with twin lion-mask handles and raised on substantial cast lion paw feet. (2) 20cm across handles, each cover engraved with a crest. 58.5 troy ounces gross

The marks are reasonably clear, and each piece is appropriately marked. The covers fit reasonably well. There is some age-related surface wear but generally the tureens are in good overall condition.
