WW2 Air Force Cross (1946), 1939-1945, Africa, Burma Stars, Defence Medal and BWM attributed to 1211644 W.O. Roy Humphrey Brooks R.A.F.V.R. extremely fine, swing mounted for wear, with matching set of swing mounted miniatures. His AFC was announced in the London Gazette dated 1st January 1946, and internet research lists him as serving with No 209 Staging Post, Transport Command at time of award.
With 2 Pilot's Flying Log Books and RAF Service Book, enlisted 2/12/40, flight training began 14/7/41 on Magisters, qualified 29/11/41, promoted F/Sgt 1/8/42, posted 267 Sqn 22/8/42, 194 Sqn 30/9/42 flying Hudsons, then 217 Sqn 10/12/42, Ferry Flight Karachi, Jodhpur, Allahabad etc, discharged 5/9/46 having served in M.E.F. & A.C.S.E.A. Last military flight listed 27/1/46, also some civilian flying 1986-88 listed.
Sold with AFC box of issue and named Buckingham palace transmital slip, RAF cap badge, RAF ID card, rank badge, ribbon bars, side cap, 1915 prismatic compass by Ed Koehn, Geneva in leather case, small pair of binoculars in case, 3 photo albums of civilian and military photos, many identified.
