Royal Sherwood Foresters Victorian glengarry badge circa 1874-81. Good scarce die-stamped white metal crowned oval title strap ; shield charged with Arms of Nottingham to voided centre. VGC Royal Sherwood Foresters or Nottinghamshire Regt. of Militia became 4th Bn. Derbyshire Regt. on Friday 1st July 1881. Royal status granted by Prince Regent in 1813 for Public Duties performed at the Tower of London, Bank of England etc.
