The City of London Imperial Volunteers (CIV) 1900 notepaper holder inscribed to front "For Service in South Africa / Presented by Watkins & McCombie, Limited / "God Save the Queen"", includes Watkins & McCombie pencil. Presented to Major F.J. McDonnell on his return to London with note confirming this by recipients granddaughter. Also included is a copy of a photo. Details also state Major McDonnell was the youngest of the British troops to go to the Boer War and he also served in WWI (invalided due to being gassed) and WWII (as an administrator).
