CHARLES DICKENS: 17 Apr. 1867 env. addressed to Mrs. Gascoigne in London, a personal friend of Dickens. The letter was mailed from the author's home in Rochester and bears a 1d red plate cancelled by Rochester "650" duplex. The env. is signed in blue ink by Dickens and is accompanied by a 1957 newspaper cutting recording the original purchase. Env. with fold well clear of signature. Cross Reference: AUTHORS
