1920's Kutahya Turkish pottery tiles being identical to the tiles on the Dome of the Rock monument in Jerusalem, the shrine being restored in 1558 by Suleiman The Magnificent, the tiles of square form being decorated in cobalt blue, turquoise green and ochre, having a large split-palmette motif surrounded by partial lotuses, the tiles were produced by local workshops to satisfy the constant demand for restoration of the shrine, stamped to the reverse 'Metin Cini Fb, Hakki Cinicioglu Kutahya', 19cm x 19cm (4)
