A nameplate, HOLYROOD, from a Peppercorn A1 Class 4-6-2 No 60152 built at Darlington, Works No 2071, in July 1949 and named in June 1951 after the royal palace at the foot of Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Allocated new to Haymarket, where it spent most of its working like, its other sheds were Polmadie, St Margarets and York from where it was withdrawn in June 1965 and sold for scrap to Cashmores at Great Bridge. Cast brass, length 50", the back shows the names of other LNER Pacifics with a nameplate of the same length, as shown on the casting pattern.
