Binding - a George III red morocco album, later used in c. 1830 by a Miss Bassett as a commonplace book, about half of the volume has been inscribed by her and friends in ink manuscript with prose and verse, some of which is from belles-lettres and others apparently original, a few pieces are occasionally illustrated with pen-and-ink allegorical headers, detected off-setting suggests that the album was once profusely illustrated (the illustrations have been cleanly removed), fine Neoclassical binding, c. 1830, of red morocco gilt, the covers outlined with a broad double-fillet border, the flat spine with Adamesque devices and borders, gilt dentelles, marbled endpapers, 4to, [1]
