Born Tottenham 1927, Richard Slater studied at Hornsey College of Art. He taught for thirty years and after retiring in 1980 took up painting full time. He exhibited widely in Devon and Cornwall and further afield, receiving many awards and prizes for his works. This artists' proof signed in pencil to bottom corner with No. 7024 to other corner.
