English School - painted hatchment with heraldry that suggests it represents a member of the family of the Montagu Dukes of Manchester, whose seat was in Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire, inscribed 'Disponendo me-non Mutando me', oil and gilding on metal, mounted in a lozenge ebonised painted frame, overall height including frame 29.5" x 22.25" wide

** Montagu Dukes of Manchester, whose seat was in Kimbolton, Huntingdonshire. They originated as a younger branch of the Montagus of Boughton, Northamptonshire, in Tudor times. The Cadency marks in the arms suggest it was for the fourth son of a second son of the house, and a tentative proposal is Capt. Henry Bernard Montagu RN, who died in 1941.
