BWM named (Maxwell G. Packe). Captain Maxwell Gordon Packe was taken Prisoner of War as the Master of the M.V. Governor (a Defensively Armed Merchant Ship) which was sunk by German Cruiser Moewe on 14/3/1917, 930 miles west of Fastnet. 'Governor had put up a good fight and had to be subdued by shell fire, four crew were killed in action, the remainder were taken POW. A torpedo delivered the coup of grace'. Packe was born Liverpool 1871 and died Birkenhead 1935. With copied research. (1)
