A late Victorian/early Edwardian gilt metal and paste snake necklace. The necklace in the form of an ouroboros snake having a paste set moulded snake head with all-over scrolling engraved decoration on a tubular snake link chain necklace. The necklace also having a snake tail clasp that fastens into the serpent's mouth. Marked E.L to clasp. Necklace sold as found with one missing white paste stone. Measures 41.5cm. Weighs 31.0g. All weights, measurements and sizes are approximate.
