The canvas has been re-lined. The paint surface shows fine surface craquelure, but no obvious damage. Examination under UV reveals evidence of some restoration, presumably undertaken when the picture was re-lined. The frame appears to be structurally sound, but the gilt finish appears to have been over-painted in places.
