4to, various pages. Original hardcover bindings with gilt lettering to spines, and gilt inlays to front boards. Top edges gilt. With various illustrations and fold-out maps throughout books. The volume of plates has fine monochrome photographs, and text explaining each plate.
Incomplete set. The second volume of plates is missing.
Condition. Very good. Light rubbing to boards. Vol. 1 is in a good condition, with stains affecting the bottom edges of the first several pages. Text not affected. Overall text, illustrations and plates are clean and clear, and books are well bound.
