1815 Waterloo Medal renamed in contemporary style to Robert Montgomery 28th Regt Foot minor edge bruise, generally very fine. Professionally mounted within large frame (35cm x 65cm) with original artwork by RLC (Robert Chapman) representing him on the battlefield.
With copied service papers and musters, he was born in Birr, enlisted 16/6/09 aged 15, served as a Drummer 30/11/09 to 15/5/13 and then as a Pte. He served overseas 1 month in Fleshing, 18 months in Gibraltar, 3 years in the Peninsula, 8 months in the Netherlands and France, 12 years in the Ionian Islands.
He was wounded in the arm at Vittoria 21/6/13 and when discharged 15/10/32 was suffering from chronic rheumatism among a number of ailments. As no MGSM was issued, he either died before 1847 or did not submit a claim for it. GLASS WILL NOT BE POSTED. (See photo) (B)
