A 18th Century replica of an Austrian spear head socket bayonet as used on the Crespi breech-loading rifled carbine. Slot to the socket collar and a long cylindrical shaft finishing with a spear head point. Measures approx. 76cm.
These unusual carbines used with these bayonets were copied from a design by Guiseppe Crespi of Milan used between 1770 and 1779 by Austrian cavalry.
