King on horseback left, holding upright sword, sash behind tied in large bow, inner beaded circle both sides, legend reads CAROLVS DG MAG BRI FRA ET HI REX. Rev, oval shield with ‘barrel’ garniture, legend reads CHRISTO AVSPICE REGNO, 27.47gm (S. 3045; N. 2533; rev. SCBI Brooker 1010, same dies). About Very Fine, some doubling, rare. Ex. Baldwin’s, shop ticket, post 1946, in AHB’s own hand, priced at 13/3/-. Ex. H Paget Col. (Glendining 25 September 1946).
