Victoria (1837-1901), Halfpenny, 1845, young filleted head left, W.W. on truncation for engraver William Wyon, date below, legend surrounding, VICTORIA DEI GRATIA. Rev, Britannia seated right with trident and shield, BRITANNIAR REG FID DEF surrounds, emblems in exergue (BMC.1529; S.3949). Uneven tone, few contact marks, bold very fi ne or bett er in its overall strike and detail. Extremely rare, the key date.
