A George III flame mahogany cased 8-day striking longcase clock, marked J. Cowen of London, the caddy top surmounted with a gilt figure of a maiden flanked by ball finials, the hood strung with satinwood and flanked by plain pilasters with gilt brass mounts, the engraved brass dial with silvered chapter and gilt spandrels, above a plain trunk, on a plinth base with bracket feet. Includes both weights, pendulum and case key. Dial measures 12”. Total height 8’2” (249cm).

Condition report: Hood garnitures are later. Dial has been painted gold.
