VERY RARE SANSERIF "PASSED BY CENSOR/[Arms]/* RANGOON *" MARK ON COVER TO DENMARK; 1 Apr. 1916 env. (label opened out for display) from Rangoon to Copenhagen with KGV 2a 6p Blue tied by a fine "RANGOON R.M.S./SET-1" cds with a mainly very fine rare purple 3-ring "PASSED BY CENSOR/[Arms]/* RANGOON *" mark inverted on the front beside a very fine Copenhagen arrival cds. Only 3 examples of this sanserif mark have been recorded. [Ex Gerald Davis.] Plus a Proof strike of the same mark on piece from the censor's souvenir record book. (2 items)
