A very rare and large blue and white Dutch Delft double barber's bowl with floral design, late 17th C.

Marked AK on the back for Adrianus Kocx, the 'De Grieksche A' workshop, Delft, 1687-1701.
Provenance:
- An important Belgian collection.
- Acquired from Aronson Antiquairs, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2007 and with their label to the base. Scans of the catalogue where the basin is featured are included. ('Dutch Delftware' by Dave and Robert Aronson, 2007)

Blue and White Large Oval Double Barber's Bowl
Delft, circa 1690-1700
Marked AK in blue for Adriaen Kocx, the owner of De Grieksche A (The Greek A) Factory from 1686 to 1701
The oval well and wide rim painted with a ground of floral and foliate sprigs interrupted around the base of the well with a diamond and floral circlet border and around the inner edge of the rim with a border of whorls, diamond devices and foliate sprigs, the valanced rim with a deep neck indenta-tion on either side and pierced at one end with two holes for suspension, and the exterior painted on the rim and body with leafy sprays of peonies and pomegranates.
