An Ottoman shield kalkan. Probably 18th or 19th century, 27cms, made from cane wound with coloured cotton, iron umbo with 5 square protrusions surrounded by radial bars secured to an iron outside edge, the inside fitted with a wooden boss (grip missing). GC (well worn and acid cleaned). £150-300
