1867 (Aug 26) Entire letter to Revd. W. Germann, Madras, franked ½a cancelled by "148" within a diamond obliterator of smaller diamonds (Cooper type 31), backstamps include "MAYAVERAM" c.d.s and boxed "S.P.O No. 3 / MADRAS" datestamp with chamfered corners, used at Egmore Suburban Post Office. A fine and scarce cancel, believed to have been used on District Post letters. Photo on Page 148.
