A 19th Century French 1866 pattern ' Chassepot ' rifle bayonet. The bayonet having ribbed brass hilt, muzzle ring with forward facing quillon (stamped 74139 and recurved ' Yataghan ' style blade. The blade spine dated with French literature 1862. Measures approx 71cm.
