£840
Impressive giltwood pier mirror, the glass plate in two parts, supported by a marble top and giltwood legs with hairy paw feet, 272 x 109 x 46cm
This lot is also sold deconstructed, whilst it is similar to lot 258 in appearance it is of slightly different size.
There are knocks and scrapes throughout all individual parts, commensurate with age and use. Where this frame has been detached from the wall it was fitted to, the top side edge of the white wooden frame has split - this runs downwards for approx 60cm. The bottom side edges have been cut, likely to fit skirting, approx 15cm long. Glass appears intact and include a large panel and a shorter panel.
the gilding on the frame is duller in lot 259
An image of how one of the mirrors looked whilst constructed is offered to offer guidance but in no way offers a guarantee that the lot will look exactly the same when reconstructed - the glass in that image is slightly more distressed in appearance and is the glass for lot 258. It was collected and brought to the saleroom deconstructed.
