A multi-signed first edition 2005 hardback copy of 'Collecting Colditz and its Secrets' written and signed by Michael Booker, signed by both Booker and former POWs and German guards of Colditz Oflag IVc, including Paul Chapman, Kenneth Lee, Peter Parker, Alfred Heinrich (German Prominentee Guard), Walter Morrison, Peter Hoffman (German Guard) and Jack Hedley, the actor who played the Senior British Officer (S.B.O.) Lt. Col. John Preston from the Colditz BBC TV series in 1972-74. The book comes with its original protective sleeve and special 'Military Gallery Special Authors Edition' case, further preserving its excellent condition and historical value.
The book was originally gifted to Robert B. Muckel, who was one of the first four liberators of Colditz Oflag IVc on 15th April 1945. The lot also includes a congratulatory type-written letter from Robert Muckel, dated 18th May 2005 and a selection of five photographs from the book launch at the Imperial War Museum, London.
This 'Military Gallery Special Authors Edition' is also signed on the 'Foreword' by Michael Burn, with a hand-written message dedicated to Michael Booker. ISBN-10: 190494308X
