AN IRISH 10 BORE PERCUSSION PISTOL BY THOMAS FOWLER OF DUBLIN. An Irish 10 bore (approxi­mately 2cm) 'Man stopper' silver mounted pistol with a 13.5cm octagonal barrel with two gold bands and leaf decoration to the breech and tablet 'Thomas Fowler Dublin', With a percussion firing 'drum and nipple conversion' type action, the engraved sideplate engraved 'Fowler'. With finely engraved unmarked silver trigger guard, butt plate and fore-end pipe. On a walnut stock with finely cross hatched grip, 24cm overall *Condition: A fine example with slight pitting to the barrel. Holds on half cock and fires on full cock.
