Two small albums containing old postcards, a bag with various cigarette cards, a picture of HMS victory in Portsmouth Harbour, small wallets by Hornet of mainly football players and teams (see 2nd photo) and several booklets mainly about comic/saucy postcards. See the 1st photo to see the contents of the lot. The main interest will be in the postcards – a postcard album about half full with a mix of standard-size cards (see photos 3 and 4 for typical examples); and a photo album with some desirable Portsmouth cards together with a quantity of loose cards (standard-size and modern) some of which may have originally been in the first album. The Portsmouth area album cards (see the last six photos for a fair reflection of what’s on offer) include two unidentified street scenes of fire damage to a store, views of Southsea and Old Portsmouth, Portchester and its castle, several lovely real photographic images of Cosham and one of Drayton, various Pamlin-print 1970s reproductions of older images and illuminated trams; and the loose cards include nine non-local novelty pull-out type PCs. The cards in the albums are generally in good condition, but some have the usual minor faults – and a few are postcard size photos; but the loose cards are in a mixed condition, and include some with major creases and several of film stars with large pin-holes at the top.
