A Shrewsbury and Hereford Railway invoice box, the top marked S&HR, the side marked INVOICE BOX. Cast iron, 12"x3½", height 6", mounted on a polished wood stand. Such boxes are believed to have been used for water taking accounts where engines from a "foreign" company took water. (Postage Band: C)
