Irish Queens Own Royal Dublin City Militia Victorian Officer Albert pattern shako plate circa 1844-55. Fine rare die-stamped gilt crowned star mounted with silver oval strap ROYAL DUBLIN CITY resting in shamrock sprays. Silver 100 to domed gilt centre. Two horizontal loops and one of four wires to reverse of crown. Service wear but generally GC. Dublin City Militia raised in 1793, redesignated Royal Dublin City Militia in 1815 later adding the title Queen’s Own became 4th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers on Friday 1st July 1881.
