£1,000
A 1619 Bronze Ship's Bell Cast in bell bronze with mouldings to the rim and shoulder, inscribed with "William Baftano" (possibly "Bastano" or "Bastara") and dated 1619. Some damage around the mouth and repairs to its yoke, most likely a later clapper. Measures 34.5 cm in diameter and 35cm high. A remarkable survivor donated to the museum and is highly likely reclaimed from the sea bed. The ship is currently unknown.
