All but 2 (Vernon and Swallow) with finely drawn hand-coloured numbered identification hoists, contemporary half roan, (rather worn) -- 9½ x 7¾in. (24.1 x 19.7cm.)
For a large part, the excerpts describe mundane activities in England; but there are long and short stays in, inter alia Bermuda, Bathurst, Sierra Leone, Nassau, Demerara, Port Royal and Halifax (Nova Scotia). The reason for the brevity of these logs is not known. Perhaps they were a punishment.
