A LATE GEORGE II SILVER LIDDED TANKARD
by John Langlands I, Newcastle 1759, the domed lid with a scroll-form thumbpiece, the tapering body with an applied reeded girdle and S-scroll handle. 18.5cm high, 25.6 troy ounces
The marks are reasonably clear. The lid closes well, but there is some play on the hinge, as you would expect. The handle has engraved initials but no erased crests or arms. There is some age-related surface wear, but it is generally in good condition.
