An exceptionally rare Commonwealth era silver broad rim plate, by A F,  London 1654, bearing contemporaneous engraved coat of arms for Sir Bulstrode Whitelocke (1605-75), 23cm, 384g.

Whitelocke was an English lawyer, writer, Parliamentarian and Lord Keeper of The Great Seal of England.
The broad rim of these plates corresponds to contemporary pewter plates of the time and was a feature in vogue circa 1640-80.
En suite with the previous lot.

In good order, commensurate with age and use. Overall surface scratching seen. Very minor nicks to edge. Marks clear.
