‘Impulse’ Hillman IMP motorcycle sidecar combination. 1966.
Speed record attempt motorcycle.
The bike was ridden by Vic Phillips for the 1966 Speed Records along with its more successful sister Impetus.
This bike is the only one in existence, it is fitted with 998cc Hillman IMP engine with a Shorrocks super charger. The engine is half of a Coventry Climax V8 Fire Pump engine. Fitted with NEB clutch and Norton gearbox. The bike runs on high octane leaded fuel. The rebuild in 2011 was a complete one and was engineered with precision.
The bike was last run in September 2022.
Genuine sale due to the owner Paul Standing (President, Sprint Section VMCC) passing.
C/w Large quantity of spares and a copy of The Vintage Motorcycle Magazine where it featured on page 61.
