PENINSULA WAR JOURNAL : Contemporary manuscript, '' Journal of Campaigns in the Peninsula, from 1st of November 1811 to 30 of January 1815.'' Inscribed on the endpaper '' Salamanca, 16 June, 1812''. Nearly 200 closely written pages but legible. Contemporary limp vellum. Interestingly the author works out his army pay for the four year period on the final couple of pages. ''August 15, 1813 received an order from the Brigadier Major to attend a General Court Martial of which Gen. Brisbane was presided on Robt. Harmesworth of the 36th Reg while attempting to give himself up to the Enemy ... the Enemy had moved off in great force to the relief of Saint Sebastion.'' (1)
