A George II silver gilt mounted porcelain sweet basket by John Harvey I (maker's mark only), London circa 1750, the porcelain an early 18th century Chinese blanc de Chine libation cup with prunus, deer, crane and other moulding, marked with a character for Xin, the swing handle chased as confronting beast heads issuing from a serpent body and from scrolls, the rim with shaped lappets, the foot rim with flowers and rocaille work, 12cm (5in) high with handle raised, 10.6cm (4 1/8in) long John Harvey I registered this mark as a largeworker on 18th June 1739 (Grimwade 1401).
