Segmented Arcs c.d.s (M.23). 1841 (Oct.) Entire letters from London to Montreal, or Leeds to Northampton, Mass (forwarded to Leicester, Cherry Valley) both sent on the "Caledonia" to Boston with the very scarce Liverpool datestamps with an incomplete circle consisting of four three segment arcs, code "L" (Oct. 23) on the front of the letter to Canada and code "D" (Oct. 31) on the reverse of the letter to USA. A rare pair, nine examples of this datestamp recorded by Tabeart (all on outgoing Packet letters by Cunard), only one with the code "L". (2).
